Pricing

How pricing works

We don't post prices, because a filter swap and a heat-pump install are different jobs. Here's what decides the number, and when you get it.

  • What decides the price

The equipment, the ducts and returns, the electrical work, how hard the space is to get into and how much sealing there is to do.

    • Equipment and filter rating

    • Ducts and returns

    • Electrical

    • Access

  • What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't

The equipment by model, the work, the permit where one is needed and how long the quote holds. It leaves out repairs we weren't asked about.

    • Equipment by model

    • Permit, where required

    • How long the quote holds

  • What happens at the visit

We look, measure and talk it through. We tell you the visit fee when you book, and say whether it counts toward the work.

    • Fee told before we come

    • Readings written down

  • After hours

We don't run an after-hours line. Calls after 4:30 go to voicemail and we call back the next working morning, and a no-heat call goes first.

    • Voicemail after 4:30

    • No-heat calls first

  • When you get the number

In writing, after the visit and before any work is booked. It's a fixed scope, not time and materials.

    • In writing

    • Before work is booked

  • If the job changes

If we find something new once work starts, we stop, tell you what it is and agree any change in writing before we go on.

    • Stop and tell you first

    • Agreed in writing

By job

What moves the price, job by job.

  • A filter fit

    • Cabinet type and where it goes

    • Filter rating and size

    • Gaps to seal

  • Adding cooling

    • Ducted or ductless

    • Rooms served

    • Electrical and line sets

  • A seasonal check

    • What is inspected

    • Filter included or not

    • Whether it counts toward work
