How long does a system last?
It depends on the equipment and the care it gets. Ask us to look at yours, and we'll say what we see.
Repair or replace?
We look at age, repair cost, refrigerant and comfort problems. We'll tell you if a repair makes sense.
How often should I change my filter?
Follow the filter maker. The EPA suggests MERV 13, or the highest rating your system supports.
Do air purifiers and UV lights work?
A portable cleaner that makes no ozone can help in one room. The EPA doesn't certify air cleaners, and UV lights don't remove smoke particles.
Do I need duct cleaning?
The EPA doesn't recommend it as routine, and hasn't found a proven health benefit in most homes.
My carbon monoxide alarm is going off. What now?
Get everyone outside into fresh air and call 911 before you call us. Don't go back in until the fire department says so.
What rebates exist here?
Ask us what your state or utility offers.
Do you pull a permit?
For most replacements, yes. Your written scope says which.
